Weekly Round-Up

Friday, January 23, 2015

Wasn't I just here giving you a weekly round-up? This past week flew by. Tuesday I met up with Luisa for Pink Barre, and I am hooked! It was so nice to have a little time-out to focus on myself because I'm a bit overwhelmed in my personal and professional life, and I've been faced with some pretty crazy adult situations as of late (woof). This space has been a great little get-away for sharing my inspirations! So, I just want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who takes time out of their day to visit this little space.

How appropriate. You're not getting hired.

For all you Serial fanatics out there: PLOT TWIST!

The new Gerber baby will make you want to have a baby (because she's that adorable).

Winter Blues. Literally.

Pizza Hut Stuffed Crust is the best; maybe?

Skimm-ing the news is the best way to know what's going on.

Wishlisted

Wednesday, January 21, 2015

I told myself at the beginning of the month I wouldn't go shopping. I made it two weeks and caved. Typical. Now I've got the shopping bug. And on top of it, my birthday is coming up. I've got my eye on some things I need (like a jacket), and some things I really don't (Glasses? I have 20/20).

Triangl Swimwear

Tuesday, January 20, 2015

The weather in Atlanta has been so great this weekend, and it has certainly gotten me in the mood for warmer weather! Yesterday was 70 degrees. SEVENTY. I had the windows down, the radio up, and an ice coffee in my hand. I could get used to this!

Down here crazies are already beginning to invest in new swimwear pieces, and I've got the fever! I would love to introduce you to one of my favorite swimwear companies - Triangl. Their color block designs are so fun, and (sorry, gentlemen) they look so supportive! Definitely making sure I get my hands on one of these bad boys this year.

Weekly Roundup

Friday, January 16, 2015

Is it just me, or did these past couple of weeks draaaaag by? We hadn't seen the sun in Atlanta in over a week until today - we almost forgot what the sun was, so I'm dreaming of brighter days and flowers! This weekend has a lot of overdue things planned - a haircut, some friends coming to town, a lunch date with mom, and possibly a trip to Athens with a possible Pauley's trip in store! Whew. Follow me on my adventures with Twitter or Instagram (I really am trying to get better at Instagramming)! What's in store for you?

A little something to send your frenemies.

For those of  you in media...

If this comes to Atlanta, will someone please sign up with me?

And this is why you should curl up with a nice book.

How cool are these laser cut maps from Famille Summerbelle? They make maps of London and Paris, and if you'd prefer a print, they have those too!

Class Pass

Thursday, January 15, 2015

Hey, Atlanta. Class Pass has finally come to Atlanta! For just $79-99 a month, you can work out at any of the gyms they're partnered with up to three times per month. We're talking boot camp classes, to barre, to cycling - the list goes on. And $99 is great when you're considering paying upwards of $250 per gym per month.

Here are some of the participating Atlanta studios:
Fly Wheel // Fly Barre // Pink Barre
Pure Barre // Crossfit // SALSAtlanta // Red Hot Yoga
The Pilates Edge // Kettlebell Fitness
...and lots more!

Purchase yours here. And let me know if you're going! I'd love to have a workout buddy.

Plated

Wednesday, January 14, 2015

Raise your hand if you love trying new recipes! Now raise your hand if you stress about walking aimlessly around the store looking for that one crazy ingredient.

Have you ever heard of plated Plated? They deliver refrigerated boxes filled with chef-designed recipes and preportioned ingredients so you can skip the store and make your own fool-proof delicious meal in under 30 minutes. Once you subscribe you receive a box each week. It's that easy!

Each meal only has two servings, so if you're single this is perfect for having leftovers and lunch for the week!.

I think I'm going to try this for one meal a month, because at $24 per meal that would get pretty pricey.  But, the ingredients are grown fresh and locally, so I guess its justifiable.

Have you tried Plated? Do you think you'd want to try this to skip the store?

Fun Wallpaper

Tuesday, January 13, 2015

Wallpapers usually get a wrap, but they can really transform a place and give it some personality! My sister and I used to cringe when we'd watch Trading Spaces and they would have to rip off the wallpaper - it looked like such a pain! But the saying "beauty is pain" could kind of apply here, right?

I've been wanting to liven up the bland walls in my apartment, and I've actually found some removable wallpaper! I may do my research a bit more, but isn't that a fun option for renters compared to buying multiple cans of paint and having to paint over before moving out? Here are some of my favorite prints I've had my eye on...

1. Flowers 2. Azurite 3. Animals 4. Peonies 5. Feathers
6. Cities 7. Loops 8. Birds 9. Sailboats 10. Safari

Aren't these so fun? I can't choose which I like best!

It's the Weekend!

Friday, January 9, 2015

Okay, I literally can't stop listening to Uptown Funk. I listen to it on repeat at work and continue the repeat at home, but add a little singing and dancing! Do you have any songs that have been stuck in your head lately? I know I need to get this song out of my head this weekend. Or else I may go insane. Have a great weekend!

Want Bruno's hat (from the picture above)? Dying over this look-alike Panama Hat.

I stumbled on this video featuring an Ira Glass interview a few weeks ago, and found it so inspiring! I've been going through this rut for the past few months where I don't feel as if I'm doing good work, I don't feel like I'm chasing my passions anymore because I'm so lost! If anyone else feels this way, I urge you to watch or listen to this.

Lusting over Goyard bags. But what do people know about their legacy?

The smiley face pain scale may not be appropriate for everyone.

In the Atlanta area? Check out what restaurants will be opening in 2015!

Dream job? Trying celebrity diets for a living.

If you really enjoy workout classes but on a tight budget and can't try all of them you should really check out Class Pass! For $99 a month you can go to 3 classes per venue per month. Yes please!

Wine Mask

Thursday, January 8, 2015

Wine is my absolute favorite food group. It's delicious, will never let you down, and is good for your heart AND skin. Resveratrol, an antioxidant in red wine that helps prevent aging, obesity, and damage in blood vessels, is proven to be good for your skin! Mix with egg yolks to keep skin radiant and egg whites and diminish fine lines, you've got yourself a nice little concoction!

This was part of the Birchbox Challenge (via The Beauty Bean) I recently mentioned. It seemed so out of the box and fun, so I just had to try it! Without further ado:

So what's in this stuff?
- three table spoons of your favorite red wine
- one egg
- one additional egg yolk

Mix it all up, and it looks just like chocolate milk! The original directions said to brush this on with a pastry brush, but i simply grabbed a paint brush and applied a couple thin layers! It was a little runnier than I anticipated, so I highly recommend leaning over the sink as you apply!

Now, let this dry completely and wipe off with a warm, damp cloth.

It's that easy!

Oh, and what is a face mask post without a embarrassing mirror selfie? Honestly, you can't tell one bit that the mask is on there, but trust me. I could barely move my face.

And while we're on the topic, check out 4 ways wine improves your skin!

Keep it real, y'all.

Birchbox 31-Day Challenge

Friday, January 2, 2015

Did you make any resolutions this year? I sure didn't. 2014 was great, but I know 2015 is going to be even better! I'm kickstarting my year with a little challenge - the Birchbox 31-Day Challenge

I'm a little late getting started (and I'm headed to the gym right after this to get started on day numero dos), but I'll be doing one challenge a day for the next month! We're talking fitness challenges, nutrition challenges, and beauty and wellness challenges! And they're not your typical "eat zero bread for a week" challenge - let's just say you make your own salad dressing one day and energizing yoga poses another.

This is going to be so fun! All these tasks seem so simple, and it'll be a great way to broaden my horizons (and your's too?) and start the year off right!

You want to take the challenge, too? You can find the assignments here. Oh, did I mention they also have daily prizes? Also, make sure to join the conversation with #BirchboxChallenge on social media!
